This is a low calorie - high vitamin breakfast or snack. Great for kids after school snack or a quick breakfast for those teens. You can make it the night before and put it in the fridge in a closed container and just shake and drink in the morning.
1 cup yogurt (flavored or plain)
1 banana
1/2 cup orange juice (or your favorite juice)
1/2 cup peaches (frozen or fresh)
1/2 cup strawberries (frozen or fresh)
1 tsp flax seed (finely ground) or wheat bran (optional, but makes a great lo-cal way to get some more fiber and you won't even taste it)
Put all of the above in a blender and blend into a nourishing tasty treat!!
NOTE: You can use any fruit or juice, be creative. Some of my favorites are honeydew melon, raspberries, blueberries and pineapple. If you use frozen fruit it makes it an icy cool drink in the summer.
